Also known as  “Southern Aristocracy”, this tune first shows up in the late 19th century and is more correctly categorized as a “cakewalk” (which suggests ragtime from its syncopated rhythms) rather than a fiddle tune. Many musicians first learned of this tune from Taj Mahal’s recording in the late 60’s (listen here).
